Wait... are the Giants good?

If the rotation keeps putting up zero's like it did through the weekend sweep of the D'Backs, then the Giants could absolutely be good.

Friday: Russ Ortiz - 7 innings, 8 hits, 2 runs, 1 big fist stuck up the collective ass of the team that dropped him by way of a phone call.
Saturday: Barry Zito - 7.1 innings, 4 hits, 0 runs, 5 k's
Sunday: Ace Cain - CG, 3 hits, 1 run, 4 K's

The offense can thank Bonds at the moment. Which is to say, he has pretty much been the offense over the last two days. Bonds is now tied for the NL lead in homers, leads the NL in OPS, and leads the league in ESPN references to steroids.

In the near future, the team is going to need some juice (figuratively speaking, kind of) at the top of the lineup:

(through Sunday)
Dave Roberts: .214 avg, .279 obp
Omar Vizquel: .203 avg, .250 obp

Big series with the Dodgers starting Tuesday.

Tuesday: Matt Morris vs. Derek Lowe
Wednesday: Noah Lowry vs. Randy Wolf
Thursday: Russ Ortiz vs. Brad Penny

Big series for April (which means not that big). But, it would be nice if they can make a statement and let the dodgers know they'll be with them all year.

The offense that is created when Roberts reaches base safely is remarkable. They need to find a way to get him on base more.
