Giant Tragedy

Rod "The Shooter" Beck died today at the age of 38. I'll remember Beck as the dominating closer for the 1993 team (with Mike Jackson and Kevin Rogers setting up) that was likely the best in the franchise's recent history. He was the kind of ballplayer you want to root for and the type of personality that makes you a fan of the game. Shooter, we'll miss you.

I can't believe shooter was only 38. It seemed like he was 50.
